Go Scope, the company founded by Dr Vinicius Nickel, was announced as one of the 12 startups that made the final of Pitch Vale do Pinhão 2025, after standing out among 24 companies in the qualifying phase held on 18 and 19 June at the Pinhão Hub in Curitiba.
Pitch Vale do Pinhão is a nationwide event organised by the Curitiba Development and Innovation Agency to recognise and promote the most innovative startups in Brazil. In the 2025 edition, the focus of the evaluation was on solutions for smart cities and the new economy - categories in which Go Scope fits with its proposal to democratise medical diagnosis through affordable portable technology.
To reach the final, Go Scope went through a rigorous selection process: an initial screening assessed the information sent in by all the candidates, followed by pitches of up to 3 minutes in the qualifying phase. Of the 24 companies that presented at this stage, the 12 best evaluated were selected as finalists. Go Scope was one of them.
In a live interview for Pan News Curitiba with presenters Ana Vaz and João Salgado, CEO Dr Vinicius Nickel explained the origin of the project: “To get the patient out, even those who could get out of bed, we had to move three or four people around the hospital.” It was this reality experienced during his residency in otorhinolaryngology at the Pedro Ernesto University Hospital (UERJ) that motivated the development of Go Scope.
“The Go Scope was developed to take the examination to the patient - not the other way round.”

The grand final took place on 17 July at Tork'n Roll in Curitiba, where the finalists gave a new presentation, improved with the support of specialist mentors. Go Scope was mentored during the competition by Heitor Espicalquis Baptista.
Go Scope is a medical technology start-up based in Pinhais, Paraná, founded by otorhinolaryngologist Dr Vinicius Nickel. Its portable endoscopic camera allows video laryngoscopy examinations to be carried out directly at the patient's bedside, in remote outpatient clinics and in emergency situations - without the need for large fixed equipment. The solution was validated in a controlled clinical study published at HUPE/UERJ and won Rede Globo's Rocket 2025 as Grand Champion.
