Go Scope carried out its first activity with the Barco Sorriso Institute on 28th March 2026, bringing its portable endoscopic camera for otorhinolaryngology consultations in the Jardim Santos Andrade community, in Curitiba.

On Saturday, 28 March 2026, Go Scope participated for the first time in an initiative by Instituto Barco Sorriso, during the "Ação Terra à Vista 14" (Land in Sight 14 Action), held in the Jardim Santos Andrade community in Curitiba. The initiative provided voluntary health services to a population with limited access to medical care, and marked the beginning of a partnership between the medical technology startup and the institute – with the aim of strengthening otolaryngology within the already established community actions of Barco Sorriso.

The Barco Sorriso (Smile Boat) Institute is a non-profit voluntary organisation founded in 2013, focused on bringing free, quality dental and medical care to hard-to-reach coastal communities and regions lacking healthcare assistance. Over the years, the project has grown to include teams of doctors, paediatricians and ear, nose and throat specialists, in addition to the volunteer dentists who are the institute's historical foundation. The Terra à Vista (Land Ahoy) initiatives, carried out in Curitiba, follow the same format as the expeditions to the islands off the Paraná coast: a full day of intensive care, with hundreds of consultations carried out by volunteers from various specialities.

Go Scope's participation in the Barco Sorriso (Smiling Boat) initiatives came at the invitation of the Institute's president, Dr. Roseane Formentti, who was impressed with the results from the very first examination conducted with the portable endoscopic camera and expressed interest in making the equipment a resource available in all future initiatives of the institute. For Dr. Vinicius Nickel, the partnership is a direct fulfilment of the purpose that motivated Go Scope's creation: “Go Scope's objective with the Barco Sorriso is to bring the examination to the patient and strengthen the work of otorhinolaryngology with dentistry. The institute is very well-structured and provides hundreds of dental treatments in its initiatives, to populations with little access to medical care, making it the perfect setting for our work.”

For Dr. Vinicius Nickel, uniting the endoscopic camera with a consolidated structure like that of Sorriso Boat is a way to multiply the reach of technology where it makes the most difference – at the forefront, with the patient who needs it most.
